Tom Matthesen is a seasoned CEO and strategic advisor with a passion for helping middle market companies grow their enterprise value. With a career spanning over four decades, Tom has successfully led businesses through complex turnarounds, high-growth phases, capital restructurings, and exits—often under challenging macroeconomic conditions.
At Valuation Growth Advisory, Tom works directly with entrepreneurs and business leaders to assess and elevate every dimension of their company: financial, operational, cultural, and strategic. His approach is hands-on, rooted in real-world experience, and laser-focused on delivering measurable improvements in profitability, cash flow, and long-term value.​

Most importantly, Tom understands the unique pressures that CEOs face—often without a safe, trusted space to turn. That’s why he created Valuation Growth Advisory: to serve as a confidential partner, sounding board, and problem solver for entrepreneurs navigating complexity and growth.

Tom holds an MBA from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business, a Finance degree from the University of Colorado, and a Graduate Degree in Banking from the University of Delaware (graduated with distinction). He is also Six Sigma certified.
